Intensive Day 3.. :)

We all felt so exhausted & tired & felt that we really needed some hands-on work to awaken our bodies & our minds.

Hands-on  ~  working on the long legs. Resting my partners legs on my knees, still in their natural line. Wiggling to loosen their legs. Spongey-like quality squeezing the feet / calf / knee / thigh / hip. Supporting behind the knee to rotate the leg in the hip socket - oiling. Gently pushing the leg into the hip socket. Combing down the length of the leg. Partner moving & offering pressure / support / warmth as she moves with the image..

As she moved we played with swapping the roles & then merging them together. Ended up in a contact improvisation both playing with giving & receiving weight. Got stuck a few times but found ways to move through it. Quite lathargic, yet energising.

Walking backward towards my partner. Walking back into a hug & partner using their knee to lift. Have to feel grounded before lift & the lifter has to make sure their pelvis is lower. Swapping around. I was tentative in the walking backward which hindered the ease of the lift.
Need to learn to say yes!

We went through playing with hands on ground / in the air & entering / exiting the river as a warm up. This really awakened my sense of where I was in the space.
Playing with speeds & dynamics.

Shifting centre of gravity forwards & up into a hand-stand.
Really shift.
Try with partner initiating the head down & the raised leg up.
Momentum really helped.

We went back into the duets to recap the signiture score - felt better doing it today - felt more settled in the body.
As a duet we were less tentative & less placed.
Tryed adding / switching partners - looking for coincidences.
Some really worked & felt like a propper group - others felt forced & didn't work at all..

Initiator / receiver / spacer : one initiates the movement & the reciever reacts / responds to it (follows through - stay true to the natural length of it). The spacer finds gaps in the space & inhabits it / cuts it / protects the mover. Switch around roles - without too much planning. Stay true to the strength / force of the initiating & the mover to their reactions.
